There have been two small, furry additions to the Year Two classroom! S’mores and Fudge are both gorgeous little guinea pigs. Fudge is brown and S’mores is the colour of a toasted marshmallow and some melted chocolate sandwiched between two Graham Crackers. Readers may not be aware that breeders stopped breeding guinea pigs during lockdown for fear of a glut, which in turn created a shortage when lockdown ceased. Mrs Webb kindly queued up at the pet shop to buy our two little friends. Needless to say, they have proved hugely popular with the children who have noticed that S’mores is “greedy and adventurous” and “likes to sit on his shelf and watch us doing maths“. We have less information about Fudge, who seems to be rather a dark horse.
