Year Two Guinea Pigs!

There have been two small, furry additions to the Year Two classroom! S’mores and Fudge are both gorgeous little guinea pigs. Fudge is brown and S’mores is the colour of a toasted marshmallow and some melted chocolate sandwiched between two Graham Crackers. Readers may not be aware that breeders stopped breeding guinea pigs during lockdown …

Starting Reception…

It’s a big moment for our Nursery children when they start a new academic year in our Reception class. More independence, new surroundings, a new teacher and for the boys…a tie! It is lovely to see all our children progressing and enjoying their new year groups.

The Opening Ceremony…

We all love new toys! Our children were delighted to return to school at the beginning of the Autumn Term to discover that our playground had been completely redesigned with a wonderful new layout including climbing walls, slides, towers, swings and and a mini vehicle track! The playground was generously part-funded by our amazing parent’s …

Prize Day 2020

Despite these extraordinary times, we were determined not to miss the opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our children and mark the end of this academic year. This year, our Prize Day had to be organised in accordance with government guidelines. In the morning the entire school gathered in the playground, stayed within their …

Advantage, Luca!

We were exceptionally proud to hear the news that Luca, one of our Year Two boys, has been selected to play tennis for the Surrey County Team. Luca started playing tennis when he was only two years old; he had a natural hold of a racket and could hit balls accurately. Luca currently plays tennis …

This term, Year Two children are learning about Space as part of our topic Alta Peto, which reflects the school motto of “aiming high”. We have looked at the life stories of some famous astronauts who embodied that ideal. The children compiled fact files and wrote diary entries as they learnt about Neil Armstrong, the first person …

Welcome Back!

Social distancing, hand sanitiser, staggered drop-off and pick-up times… Many things have changed since we were last in school, however there are many more elements of daily life which remain the same and are reassuringly familiar to children and staff alike. We continue to provide a stimulating learning environment and to challenge and encourage the …

School Life Under Lockdown…

Visitors to our school often comment on our “family” atmosphere, and we are justifiably proud of our strong school community. We were sad to temporarily close our doors at the end of March as the Nation went into lockdown, however the school managed to stay “open for business” in the virtual world. Our teaching staff …

Easter Bonnets

Pipe cleaners, fluffy chicks, ornamental carrots, gallons of glue and oodles of imagination were used to create stunning hats for our annual Easter Bonnet Parade. The children had lots of fun comparing their creations as they arrived at school and proudly paraded their headgear around the playground prior to judging.

Fun at Forest School

One of our favourite places is our private playing field, which has a beautiful forest school area where the children can learn and explore in the fresh air. Reception visited this week for an Easter Egg hunt with a difference. The children searched for colourful eggs marked with numbers and numicon! They hunted behind fallen …
