Admissions and Registration

The best way for you to find out more about Shrewsbury House Pre-Prep is by coming to visit us.

You are warmly invited to come and meet the Head and have a tour of the school at a time that is convenient for you. This can be arranged by contacting the Registrar, Mrs Jules Akhurst, who would be happy to arrange this for you.

You would also be very welcome to come along to our weekly Toddler Group, which runs every Friday morning during term time. There is no charge and no need to book.  Further details can be found here.

Shrewsbury House Pre-Preparatory School is a non-selective Pre-Prep and children are eligible to join our Nursery at the start of the term in which they turn three.  Places are allocated on a ‘first come, first served basis’ in order of registration.  We do, however, give preference to siblings.

As places are limited, parents are advised to register as soon as possible by completing the Registration Form which can be found here.

Once completed, you will be taken to our online payment screen where a £150.00 registration fee is payable. We also ask that a photograph of your child’s birth certificate is sent as an attachment via email to our Registrar, Mrs Jules Akhurst at

We also accept registrations for entry into Reception, Year 1 and Year 2; however, this is dependent on spaces becoming available.  For entry into Year 1 or 2 we would invite your child to spend a morning in their current year group. This would allow us to assess your child’s potential to thrive in our school environment.

If you wish your child to enter one of our top years and they are registered for our prep school, Shrewsbury House, we would carry out a more rigorous assessment to ascertain the level that your child is working at. Following their assessment your child may still be required to sit the Conditional Assessment for Shrewsbury House.

Please check our Admissions Policy in the About Us section, under Policies & Documentation. If you would like any further information about the registration process, please do not hesitate to contact the Registrar at or 01372 462 781.
