Admissions and Registration

The best way for you to find out more about Shrewsbury House Pre-Prep is by coming to visiting us.

You are warmly invited to come and meet the Head and have a tour of the school at a time that is convenient for you. This can be arranged by contacting the Registrar, Mrs Jules Akhurst, who would be happy to arrange this for you.

You would also be very welcome to come along to our weekly Toddler Group, which runs every Friday morning during term time. There is no charge and no need to book.  Further details can be found here.

Shrewsbury House Pre-Preparatory School is a non-selective Pre-Prep and children are eligible to join our Nursery the term after they turn three.  Places are allocated on a ‘first come, first served basis’ in order of registration.  We do, however, give preference to siblings.

We also accept registrations for entry into Reception, Year 1 and Year 2; however, this is dependent on spaces becoming available.  For entry into Year 1 or 2 we would invite your child to spend a morning in their current year group. This would allow us to assess your child’s potential to thrive in our school environment.

If you wish your child to enter one of our top years and they are registered for our prep school, Shrewsbury House, we would carry out a more rigorous assessment to ascertain the level that your child is working at. Following their assessment your child may still be required to sit the Conditional Assessment for Shrewsbury House.

As places are limited, parents are advised to register as soon as possible by completing the Registration Form which can be found below.  Please feel free to complete the form electronically and email it to the Registrar at together with a photograph or copy of your child’s birth certificate. The registration fee can be paid by electronic bank transfer and the details can be found on the Registration Form. Alternatively, please complete the form and post it back to us together with a cheque and copy of your child’s birth certificate.

Please note that for some devices the signature option in the PDF might fail to appear. If this is the case, please either complete, print, sign and then scan the Registration form, or complete, print, add your signature and then send in the post.

Please find our Registration Form and Admissions Policy below. If you would like any further information about the registration process, please do not hesitate to contact the Registrar at or 01372 462 781.
