This term, Year Two children are learning about Space as part of our topic Alta Peto, which reflects the school motto of “aiming high”. We have looked at the life stories of some famous astronauts who embodied that ideal. The children compiled fact files and wrote diary entries as they learnt about Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon and Tim Peake, the first British ESA astronaut. The topic has fascinated the children and completely captured their imaginations; inspiring further, independent research. The children have channelled their enthusiasm and creativity to produce exciting power point presentations, beautiful 3D models of the solar system and robots made from reclaimed materials.
